👮 What Happens When You Call the Police?

It's simpler than you think. The whole process usually takes around 30-45 minutes.

Call us first Contact OG Drive right away - we'll guide you through the process. In some cases, a police call may not even be needed.

Call 112 if needed Georgia's emergency number. Police usually arrive within 15–20 min. They are friendly and helpful with tourists.

Get your report They document the scene and give you a protocol - this is what activates your insurance.
💡 Good to know: Police sometimes issue a small traffic fine for the incident (typically 50–100 GEL). This is a standard procedure and is separate from the insurance - the fine is yours to pay, but all vehicle damage is still fully covered.

  • ✕ Car components and accessories - loose or removable parts are not covered. Examples: floor mats, phone holders, USB cables, child seats, GPS devices, hubcaps, or any personal belongings left in the car.
  • ✕ Mechanical damage due to off-road - engine failure, transmission issues, clutch wear, flat tyres, or any breakdown caused by driving on rough terrain or unpaved roads.
  • ✕ Unauthorized driver - transferring the car to a person who was not specified as a driver beforehand voids all insurance coverage.
